Hello Folks,

Today we begin to celebrate our 10-year anniversary!

This is an extremely exciting and important moment in the life of
The Freelance Writing Organization Int’l.

The fact that over three thousand, six hundred days of continuous
operation has passed by simply blows my mind. Looking back at the
site logs shows hundreds of thousands of entries of visitors,
users and the simply curious, and along with my mind exploding we
have assembled a variety of giveaways for you.

During the month of June we will be giving away books, cash,
ebooks and software to celebrate our anniversary. Examples of what
to expect are special “how-to-write” books and ebooks from authors
such as Sally Shields, Ruth Barringham, Suzanne Male, Renni Browne
and other self-help writers. Some go to randomly chosen users, some
go to every registered user.

On top of that there will be a random user cash draw, as well as a
cash prize for our longest term user. Also, fully functional
software will be offered to support your writing and many other
gifts over and above what has already been assembled for you.
June should be a fun time for all our registered users.

We’re so happy that we’d love to pay off all of your debts as well,
however we had to draw the line somewhere! So those you’ll have to
take care of yourself. {smile}

In order to have kept this operation running for 10 years there
are literally hundreds of people that deserve a notable thank you
and large hugs. You all know who you are and what you have
provided us. We are extremely grateful to all of the contributors
and sponsors of and to the FWO, Inkwell Newswatch (IN) and Writers
Site News. We would not be here without your generous support.
If you need something, just ask.

There are a few particular organizations and individuals that I
would like to thank. In the beginning a special nod to Purdue
University as well as the Erma Bombeck Workshop for helping us
establish credibility and maintaining the faith. During our
initial growth phase or “official site launch” I thank Dean Wiebe
at ListMailPro and for our ongoing operation-to-date thanks goes
to the whole support department, especially Dave, at
Prohosting.com. I am also deeply grateful to Richard at
PHPScripts.com for all of the upgrades and customizations he has
performed on our main resource database.

For Inkwell Newswatch (IN), although still on indefinite hiatus,
I would like to thank the many regular columnists and writer
contributors who helped us amass over 1,100 previously
unpublished articles about the art and craft of writing.

There are also two special individuals who deserve hugs and
thanks, Daryl Jung and Julie Pierce. Without their leading roles
editing IN the publication never would have made the positive
impact that it had, and continues to have, on writers. Today the
IN Archives are a testament to their editing and management
abilities culminating in a fountain of knowledge written by
writers for writers that will be useful for years to come.

To Writer’s Digest, The Writer, Poets & Writers, The Golden Web
Awards and the many other organizations that have provided us with
recognition and encouragement we are extremely grateful.

Of course if you know me at all, either through our site, my
writings or personally, you’ll know that I can’t resist giving a
big fat raspberry to the people who have written negative press we
occasionally received. To them I say,

“They’re wrong, we’re strong, so move along!” {smile}

To our financial contributors and product purchasers, however
large or small the assistance, this site would not exist without
your generosity over the years. I hope that you will continue to
support us and find that our resources are helpful in achieving
your career goals.

And to you, as an individual member of our site, I intend to make
the month of June this year as exciting as possible. Ten years has
run a lot of water under our bridge and it’s time to celebrate!

To that end, over the next four weeks will be a variety of
anniversary announcements that I hope you’ll enjoy. Who knows?
Maybe you’ll be one of our random winners. For sure there will be
special giveaways for everyone so stick around, spread the word
about our celebration and giveaways and let’s all enjoy the month
of June.

In closing, and on a personal note, today also marks 10 years of
sobriety for me. An accomplishment I never would have achieved
without the caring help of Dr. Dan DiGiacomo and Alcohol Recovery
Therapist Ms. Mair Ellis, both at the CAMH Institution. Without
their assistance over all these years I’d be dead by now.
To them I offer an eternal and everlasting thanks.
