The 1st Annual River City Write Off: Short screenplay competition, sponsored by Yellow House Films, aims to bring together new writing talent and the Richmond film community to produce a short film in the spring of 2006. Unlike most screenwriting contests, the River City Write Off does not simply pass the winning script along to Hollywood readers. Instead, the winning writer will take part in producing their script. The baseline production budget is two thousand dollars and will be augmented by entry fees. The submission deadline is February 10, 2006. http://www.rivercitywriteoff.com
