Sixth Annual Central Coast Book and Author Festival -- The historic Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo, California is the perfect setting for authors and book lovers to come together. Readings and workshops will be conducted in in a number of venues in and around Mission Plaza. Music, crafts, and entertainment will be on hand all day as well as book exhibits and authors. 2005 West Texas Book and Author Festival -- The fifth annual West Texas Book and Author Festival will be a week-long event in Abilene, culminating in a big day of festivities on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Abilene Civic Center. Activities include workshops, a cookbook gala, panel discussions, and more. The A.C. Green Award will be presented at the Boots and Books Luncheon and a Texas Cookbook Gala is scheduled. 18th Annual Vancouver International Writers Festival -- The Writers Festival attracts the world's best writers to Vancouver. The Word on the Street Book & Magazine Fair -- You and your family, friends and neighbours are invited to celebrate the joy of reading at The Word on the Street Book & Magazine Fair. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the last Sunday in September, Vancouver, Halifax, Toronto and Calgary will unite Canada in a national celebration of literacy and the printed word. More than 500 attractions — including exhibits by local and national publishers, booksellers, literacy organizations, libraries and writers' associations — showcase an exceptional array of current and backlisted books and magazines to browse or buy. The Humboldt County Children's Author Festival -- This October, 26 authors and illustrators will come to Humboldt from throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Utah, Florida and Indiana. They will travel to 60 Humboldt County schools, talk about themselves and their work to thousands of schoolchildren, and spend a day at a public autographing session in the Main Library in Eureka, where their books can be purchased. The 20th Age Melbourne Writers’ Festival will take place from August 19 to August 28, 2005 at CUB Malthouse, Melbourne Town Hall and other venues around Melbourne. The full program will be released in The Age and online on Saturday 23 July. This year The Age Melbourne Writers’ Festival celebrates 20 years of bringing writers from across the world to Melbourne.
