Standard Advertising Options

Single Targeted Article Banner Ads
Size: 400 x 50
Form: Horizontal static banner (not animated)
Encounters: One (1) ad in one (1) issue at one (1) insertion point
Location: Your choice of placement. Choose one of our upcoming articles to let us know where to place your banner by referring to our Editorial Calendar, or contact us at, Subject: IN Advertising. Your banner will appear at the very top of the page above the selected article.

Article Ad – Every Article Page
A bargain at less than $5.00 US per ad per issue!
Size and Form: See Sample Ad Sizes below
Encounters: One (1) ad in one (1) issue displayed on EVERY ARTICLE page of the issue for the month, except the cover. There are approximately 60 article pages per edition. your ad appears on approximately 60 different pages!
Location: Your ad appears in the right-hand column of EVERY ARTICLE page, except the cover.

Category Ad – Every Index and Category Page
A bargain at less than $13.00 US per ad per issue!
Size and Form: See Sample Ad Sizes below
Encounters: One (1) ad in one (1) issue displayed on EVERY INDEX and CATEGORY page of the issue for that month, except the cover. There are approximately 40 index and category pages per edition. Your ad appears on approximately 40 pages.
Location: Your ad appears in the right-hand column of EVERY INDEX and CATEGORY page, except the cover.

Most locations and durations of advertisement runs are extremely manageable due to the adaptable nature of our publishing and website systems; however, the general run is for one issue. Multiple-issue runs are available and can be negotiated with the advantage of bulk discounts.

Pricing & Deadlines

All ad prices are based on a one-time run in one published issue of Inkwell Newswatch (IN). We rely on advertisers to supply finished graphics in .gif or .jpg format on time by deadline. All ads missing publication deadline will not be published and will result in the loss of your payment. Please ensure we have your ad graphics early.

Ad deadlines are the 1st of the month prior to the the month in which you want your ad to run. For example, if you want your ad to run in the March, IN must receive your payment and advertisement no later than the 1st of February.

Then, in the Purchasing Menu (further down this page), click the Buy Now! button next to the ad type that you'd like to purchase. Please note: Ad space is distributed on a first come, first served basis. If your choice of edition and ad placement has already been reserved at the time of your purchase, we will place your ad in an alternative location and/or edition. We do not accept animated advertising at this time. Frequency rates are available, including discounts for bulk ad purchases.

Penned to the page
Waiting for us to admire.
It is only a lonely thought
Caught by tears on fire.

Silent Echoes
A quiet rhyme upon a page
Is what a poet gives;
Some gentle words whispered in trust
To see if memory lives.

Bard From Deadlines
What makes a poem finally work
Is not the time it takes;
It’s how the poet used the muse
To prophet from mistakes.

Be Mused
The art and craft of poetry
Are not so far apart;
The craft comes from the cunning,
The rest comes from the heart.

Don’t plant your poem on the page
As though you’re hanging drapes;
It’s shape and flow should come and grow
Like wild summer grapes.

Writers write what they know best,
Their passions, fears, and dreams;
Writers rarely write about
What other call their “themes.”

Double Vision
A writer’s life is paradox,
It’s more than what it seems;
We write of our reality,
The one inside our dreams.

The echo of a promise,
The thunder of a sigh,
The music of a memory,
A child asking why.

Can send a soul to heaven or torment it with rage,
Can free a fragile world or hold it in its net--
The power and the magic of the mighty alphabet.

The Write of Passage
The jump from writing just for fun
To getting paid for it
Begins when you first realize
You know you’ll never quit.

It is not the magic of his wings
That sets us free from our bond.
It is the muse within ourselves
That lets our words lift us beyond.

Consider your mind the darkroom,
Consider your life the lens,
Consider your eye the camera
On whose focus the poem depends.

Rising Moon
A poem is a rising moon
Shining on the sea,
An afterglow of all we know,
Of all we hope to be.

Star Light
Writing a poem,
Reaching a star,
In making good art
We find who we are.

Spider Web
A poem is a spider web
Spun with words of wonder,
Woven lace held in place
By whispers made of thunder.

The final draft upon the screen,
At last my poem’s through;
A verse of only four short lines--
I rewrote twenty-two!
